Doug is the current Chair of Spencer Fane's Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group, and has been involved in a wide variety of business litigation matters. Doug has extensive experience in intellectual property litigation, especially covenants not to compete and trade secrets litigation. He has been involved in over thirty preliminary injunction hearings. As one example, Doug obtained a preliminary injunction enforcing covenants not to compete signed by several managerial and sales level employees who left their former employer and set up a competing company. Doug is a frequent author and speaker on covenants not to compete and trade secrets.

Doug received his law degree from the University of Virginia in 1990. He received his bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Nebraska in 1987. Doug is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Missouri and Kansas bars.
